Microsoft has killed the ZUNE

After reading a tweet from @gadgetlab "Report: Microsoft has killed the Zune here". I did not think twice of reading the article and was quite surprise about Microsoft's decision to cease production of it's Zune PMP and just focus on it's Software integration with the Smartphones.

The gadget didn't even reach my country! I mean yes we have the black market selling that but it's different if it's official and legal.

Personally, I think ZUNE is greater than Ipod in so many ways and yeah the device may have some flaws in it but that's something that Microsoft can work on and you can't deny that the Radio Tuner and the Wi-FI Synching is really a great feature that Ipod does not have up to this time.
So what went wrong?  Zune was a little too late in terms of beating the market share. The advertising of the gadget was very poor that up to the last minute if i’m not mistaken the gadget was only available to US Only and Canada.
Microsoft should have listened to it's users feedback. They should have invested in Marketing..They should have invested in Advertising. They should have inform the consumers that Ipod isn't the only portable media player in this world there is ZUNE.  They should have inform the consumers that they can be different and that they have other options.
It’s just sad that PMP is dominated by Ipod. I am so sick of seeing the same old piece of gadget. I think if there’s one PMP who will and can beat them given the right attention and marketing strategy it’s no less than the ZUNE.
For now the Zune Software will be integrated to it's smart phones and i'm looking forward in buying the Nokia WP7 but it will not be available until 2012. Wow! Ang tagal ng aantayin ko ah!
